Kill the RIAA, Stop Supporting Their Greed

December 30, 2007 | Filed Under Activism

The RIAA has been suing Americans left and right in hopes of deterring piracy that has become increasingly simple during the digital age. There is a way to fight against the RIAA:

Stop giving them your dollars and stop supporting their artists.

My beef with the RIAA isn’t that it is fighting for “justice”, because to a certain extent, they are just trying to stop “theft”. However, they are acting as a bully and essentially resorting to fear tactics to control Americans. Artists aren’t even benefiting from the RIAA bullying, it’s the recording industry and big-name labels that increase their bottom line and therein likes the problem.

I’m not a big fan of corporations that operate entirely on their greed and power. With the rise of fascism in America and the danger of lost liberties. I’d also rather not support organizations that are dedicated to screwing consumers (and artists) in order to help the corporations increase profits.

Below is a link to a website that will help you know what artists are associated with the RIAA and I’d advise everyone to stop supporting them PERMANENTLY. This is not just a Christmas thing, not just a “one day boycott”. I am telling you that in order to hurt them and make them stop acting like bullies, you need to fight back.

The only language they understand is money!

Fight the RIAA, do not support any artists that are associated with them

Good luck with that. If you plan not to buy from any artist associated with the RIAA, then you’re left with pretty much only unsigned artists or very obscure labels.

We should literally kill these assholes. FUCK THEM ALL. I read about how they won $8,000 against a permanently hospitalized teen named Ciara Sauro because she was too sick to appear in court to defend herself. These RIAA fuckers are beyond disgusting. How long are we going to sit here while they continue to pull off this kind of shit and take away our rights and freedoms? Fuck peaceful protesting. A little violence would give these bastards the message they desperately need. If shit doesn’t start changing soon, then perhaps it’s time to do just this…

It’s not too hard to boycott the RIAA. What the RIAA doesn’t know is that this is the age of the Internet. There are so many incredibly cool artists on independent labels, and they are continuing to take over the market shares that the majors lose. These days it’s pretty much common knowledge among artists that you’re fucked every thinkable way if you sign up with a major label, so the ones sailing under the RIAA flag become fewer and fewer in numbers.

And it’s probably just a matter of time before the RIAA takes that one little step too far and opens itself up to criminal prosecution. Read the RIAA’s (and IFPI’s) website about their goals and activities. Then compare them against Wikipedia’s definition of racketeering…
