“Support the troops” – Homeless Vet Problem

It’s appalling to see that so many veterans are homeless and/or suffering from mental disease without any support whatsoever from the same federal government that exploits them and ships them off to war. These men and women fight for America’s safety, freedom, and an honor that few Americans would ever understand. It is unbelievable how quickly our politicians and “supporters” forget the very people that they exploit in order to push political agendas and war. The problem is obvious, it is a glaring reflection on societal greed and media sensationalism.

The “I’ve got mine” crowd could care less about the fate of the Americans at the bottom of the food chain who are struggling to get a warm meal and survive another day. You want to know why they don’t give a damn? Because we allow them to get away with spouting the rhetoric but when the sky comes falling on our heads, we look the other way and blame no one. For once, we should assign responsibility to those that created the problem to begin with. Americans should put the burden on the fools who have impoverished further those who were already poor and pushed death upon those who simply wanted to “be all they could be”.
President Bush’s Treason: the FISA Veto Threat

Terrorist threat from the White House
The President continues the trend of betraying our country in order to fulfill personal or political agendas overseas, the President of the United States is now committing the ultimate crime, he’s attempting to coerce Congress into taking the plunge and betraying America with him.
The issue is simple, President Bush has decided to take a stand to protect telecommunications corporations that illegally spied on American citizens — a gross violation of our constitutional rights — than take measures to protect citizens from the terrorists.
Keith Olbermann’s Special Comment on FISA
President Bush promised to veto the FISA legislation from Congress if it doesn’t arrive at the White House with the telecommunications immunity intact.
When is enough, enough? If the goal of U.S. policy is to thwart terrorism before it blows up in our faces, then why is the President still sitting pretty while in office? Why hasn’t President Bush been impeached and well on his way to a federal prosecution and conviction thereafter?
John McCain: The Candidate Of Change

Every candidate, including Senator John McCain, has tried to roll with the “change” buzz word. If by “change” we mean turning gay, then John McCain might have the leg up on this one. I guess Senator McCain’s best defense against that argument is that he loves Bush, go figure.

the Sorry State of the Union

I watched the state of the union address and I’m sorry to say that I was disappointed by the speech that the President gave. He seemed intent on hammering his partisan points home and rallying the Republican base. It may have been good from a political standpoint for Republicans, but it was a disaster in my opinion for the nation.
Congress is woefully divided and a unity message might have been more helpful. Although politics in America is highly polarized, so it could be that a Unity speech would have gone on def ears. Below is a comic that illustrates the point of view of people who aren’t in President Bush’s ever-shrinking circle.

Republicans Betray America as Democrats Cower in Fear

Democrats Betray the American Spirit
“The Senate (reportedly still under Democratic control) seems determined to help President Bush violate Americans’ civil liberties and undermine the constitutional separation of powers. Majority Leader Harry Reid is supporting White House-backed legislation that would expand the administration’s ability to spy on Americans without court supervision and ensure that the country never learns the full extent of Mr. Bush’s illegal wiretapping program.”
The above words are the introduction to a NY op-ed piece that should enrage any American. It is true, that if American justice is to receive any vindication over the next few years, Democrats need to step up to the plate. Up until now, Democrats have cowered in fear over the prospect of being labeled “un-American” and un-Patriotic!” They continuously bow before the fear-mongering neo-conservative terrorist-spouting cowards.
Actions of the Democrats make them almost as loathsome as their neo-conservative masters. The end result will be a collective driven by American slaves and it’ll be the fault of the cowards in Congress who refused to stand up for the rights of American citizens. Our liberty is in danger and the men and women in power do nothing as it is stripped from us. The truth is slipping out of reach and for what reason?
Fear.

Real vs. Fake Republicans

Ron Paul says he’s a Republican, the neo-conservative movement that hijacked the party is not the same thing. Modern-day “Republicans” who support President Bush’s illegal war are frauds. The fear-mongering fascist-lovers are borderline treasonous and criminal.
the Death of an idea called “America”

Our spirit is dead, our nation is demoralized, all we have left is the noise of libertarian and liberal activists that is drowned out by authority.
(CBS/AP) Eighty people were arrested at the Supreme Court Friday in a protest calling for the shutdown of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Demonstrators wearing orange jump suits intended to simulate prison garb were arrested inside and outside the building. “Shut it down,” protesters chanted as others kneeled on the plaza in front of the court. They were charged with violating an ordinance that prohibits demonstrations of any kind on court grounds. Those arrested inside the building also were charged under a provision that makes it a crime to give “a harangue or oration” in the Supreme Court building. The maximum penalty is 60 days in jail, a fine or both.
The Supreme Court is now doing the bidding of the Bush Administration with the right-wing court fix in play. You can read the article about the 80 protesters who were arrested for exercising their right to free speech outside of the ‘wrong’ federal building.
