Anti-Bush sign returns complaints of treason, sedition, and possible sanctions are being considered for this vile act of un-American activity.

“Patriots” get a grip, you’re losing your minds and the rhetoric isn’t going to get you anywhere this time around.

a day in Iraq funds 34,904 scholarships

Interesting strategy has arisen out of the Iraq War.  We all know what an unpopular war it has become, now Democrats are trying to show how much it is affecting our country in ways beyond lost lives and taxes.  A single day in Iraq is enough to fund almost thirty five thousand educational scholarships.

Iraq War vs. Education

President Bush is constantly reminding citizens that we need to make a sacrifice, “for the troops”.  He tells us that we are in no position to spend money frivolously and he wants to get the nation back into fiscal responsibility.  Yet, at the same time, government contractors who are buddies of the administration are making off like bandits.  In a way, you could argue that the administration is stealing from tax payers and the very troops they claim to support.  He takes our money and gives it to his friends and to corporations like Haliburton and Blackwater, both of which are up to no good.   Democrats used the same strategy during SCHIP, but it didn’t work out as the Republicans in congress are more interested in partisan loyalty than helping Democrats ’succeed’ by any measurement.

Writer’s Block or Creative Protest?

If not for pictures like the one below, my first inclination would be to say that the writers on strike just want to force time off so they can hang out and do nothing! Come on, now… we all know that some of the most brilliant minds reside within the laziest procrastinators on the planet. In all seriousness, I think it is good to put the corporation’s feet to the fire, I just wonder how long they’ve been in “negotiation” on this issue before they decided to strike and ruin thousands of family vacations.

Writer’s Strike

Clever writers, we’ll miss you, please come back soon!

There is no flag large enough…

November 11, 2007 | Filed Under propaganda | Leave a Comment

No glitz, no glamor, just one powerful message emanating from this photograph. For those of you who are not very good at spotting the details, you have an American soldier… –support the troops(tm)– protesting American foreign policy. His face shows sadness, anger and disappointment. Turning a flag upside down is akin to wearing a cross upside down in some circles, he may as well be burning the flag. Further, the upside down flag that he is holding has scribblings on it…

Soldier’s shame

“There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.”

Hear that Pentagon? Anyone remember when they dropped bombs near innocent civilians and killed dozens of women, elderly, along with seven children? It was deemed an error in judgment and not really discussed by the American media, but it happened. Or maybe you recall the Black Water organization that is paid exorbitant amounts of money to protect our ambassadors and other American interests in Iraq. They make much more money than our beloved soldiers, but something they haven’t been doing is playing by the rules. In fact, killing innocent and unarmed civilians for the sake of killing brownies is immoral, illegal, and a war crime. Why the Department of State would want to grant the men immunity in exchange for candor during an investigation, is beyond me.
