There is no flag large enough…

No glitz, no glamor, just one powerful message emanating from this photograph. For those of you who are not very good at spotting the details, you have an American soldier… –support the troops(tm)– protesting American foreign policy. His face shows sadness, anger and disappointment. Turning a flag upside down is akin to wearing a cross upside down in some circles, he may as well be burning the flag. Further, the upside down flag that he is holding has scribblings on it…

Soldier’s shame

“There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people.”

Hear that Pentagon? Anyone remember when they dropped bombs near innocent civilians and killed dozens of women, elderly, along with seven children? It was deemed an error in judgment and not really discussed by the American media, but it happened. Or maybe you recall the Black Water organization that is paid exorbitant amounts of money to protect our ambassadors and other American interests in Iraq. They make much more money than our beloved soldiers, but something they haven’t been doing is playing by the rules. In fact, killing innocent and unarmed civilians for the sake of killing brownies is immoral, illegal, and a war crime. Why the Department of State would want to grant the men immunity in exchange for candor during an investigation, is beyond me.
